1. Definition
A profession sector which contains applicative science (such as: chemistry, physic and microbiology) also engineering principal, economic and management in the link of processing agriculture product since harvest until being semi raw material and product.
The word ‘link’ here mean: new product development, raw material handling, processing, preservation, sanitation and waste management, secure (saving and packaging), distribution, quality scoring, benefit exploring (acceptability and nutrition fact). These are have done to increase efficiency of agriculture product can be used for human prosperity.
Agriculture products here consist of plant product, waters and fishes product and cattle product.
2. Aim
Vocational High School as a shape of vocational school unity as explained in the Chapter 15 SISDIKNAS Law is middle education, which prepares the students to work in special sector.
2.1 General aim
The aims of vocational education are : to incerase intelegence, knowledge, personality, morals, and skill to be autonomous and follow advanced education that suitable with the vocation.
2.2 Special aim
Study Program Expertise of Agriculture Product Processing have aim to prepare student to be able to identify agriculture product,, to handling the agriculture product, to understand the relation between material with the product quality, to processing agriculture product being other product, to package the product, saving and storing agriculture product, to do some productive activity such as business entrepreneur in the section of agriculture product processing, to apply Good Manufacturing Practice and to handle the food safety.
